Diginada is a celebration in every sense of the word. Philippe Leduc has merged musical epochs and genres to create music that is stunningly, completely current – music of the eternal present. Drawing on the dawn of time, the beat of Diginada rouses the tribal instinct, while the chorus awakens the mystical spirit and the penny whistle revives the “unbearable lightness of being.” This music will give you a fresh look at yourself, brighten the colours of your dreams, and bring your fantasies to life by enveloping you in a timeless ether that nourishes self-fulfilment. Most certainly, you will succumb to this marvellous enchantment.

Philippe Leduc composed the music for many songs in Cirque du Soleil’s touring show Corteo. Corteo (an Italian word meaning “cortege”) is a joyous procession, a festive parade as a clown might have choreographed it. Combining acrobatics, comedy, and acting, the colourful show takes audiences to a playful world suspended between heaven and earth.
Having touring Canada and the United States, Corteo is currently sold out in Japan. Its itinerary includes Russia, China, Australia, and Europe.

Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Mario Klemens
For chorus and orchestra. Guest soloists: Elyzabeth Diaga and Mary-Lou Gauthier

In this epic musical novel, Philippe Leduc transports us to the most infamous places of fire and blood in history: those of the Spanish Civil War (No Pasarán), Guernica in ruins (Madrid Adagio), the rise of Nazism (Das Reich), and a grief-stricken mother who expresses her pain and desolation to God following the loss of a son (Stabat Mater 37).

This first symphony reveals the rich musical tradition of Prague and features a dazzling performance by 160 musicians and choristers conducted by Mario Klemens. The strength of Leduc’s melodic lines and the seriousness of his subject matter are magnificently conveyed by the profoundly emotional voices of Mary-Lou Gauthier and Elyzabeth Diaga, who colour this lyrical symphonic poem with flamboyant, passionate touches of red and black.
